project 52 of 2013 | love

This week's theme, naturally, was "love."

And naturally, this was easier said than done. I had a number of pictures to choose from - the usual loving picture of my daughter with her dogs; with her "lovie," a stuffed bear we named Schwartz; cuddling with her dad before bed. I also had a newborn session on Valentine's Day and could probably have chosen one from that to share with you.

Still, I decided on this picture, and I'm going to tell you why. Every year, Isabella's Uncle Timmy (my husband's brother) sends her a valentine in the mail, and every year it is her favorite. For her first valentine, he sent her a toy cell phone and musical lion that she never put down; for her second, he sent her the aforementioned lovie, Schwartz, who still goes everywhere with her; and this year, he sent her custom-designed m&m's, Isabella's absolute favorite indulgence. Whenever she eats one, she tells us "UncUnc, Izzy loves you."

So I thought, what better way to show "love" than a simple picture showing the bond these two have, even 300 miles apart? Another reminder of how important family really is...nothing says "love" more to me than that. Not to mention I got to break out my favorite macro lens ;)

You're probably here from Michele's blog. Now hop over to Nancy's blog and see her "love" image :)

  4. I love the story behind the image! I think I love that most about this 52 week project, learning what motivates us all to take a picture a certain way or choose a particular subject. I agree, what a great uncle!
