Grand Opening

It's something I've been aiming to do for a while. But I sat there, frozen with fear, staring at the "Congratulations! Your shop is ready. It's time for the grand opening." banner. Do I click it? Or force quit Chrome and pretend it never happened?

I take pictures. It's what I do. It's not that I don't do other things. It's not that I'm the best or that my images are life-altering or that I even have half an idea of what I'm doing. It just is what it is. I take pictures. I've always taken pictures, of everything, all the time. It comes as naturally to me as breathing. As a child I used to love to sit and go through old photographs with my grandparents. As I got older I loved creating those memories, not for anyone but myself. And now, some of those images that I took or my grandpa took...they're priceless.

I am opening an Etsy shop to share with you some of my favorite images. To put myself out there like that is difficult for me, but I want to. It's what I've always wanted to do. Mixed with the fear of not being successful or of people not liking my art is the excitement of all the possibilities. That people might actually not only like them - but love them, as much as I do. That they might help tell your story the way they help tell mine. Where we've been, what we've done, things we've seen.

Second Ave is where I fell in love with photography, and now I can share that love with you.

Ironically...there are no pictures in this post!

P.s. I clicked the banner. My shop is now available here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SecondAvePhotography
