project 52 of 2013 | backlighting

Our challenge this week was backlighting - one of my very favorite ways to photograph portraits...and pretty much everything else :) I just love the softness it creates and the opportunities for some unique sun flares.

Side note: I've been avoiding shooting my Canon 50mm f/1.4 wide open but have recently fallen back in love with it.

    The light in these is great. I agree on the bokeh too. I get too frustrated in post with backlighting so I can't say that I love doing this week but that is why it is called a Challenge, right?! :)
